The installation of Glow happens mostly autonomous using the setup program that is delivered with the download. Thus, installing Glow is fairly simple. Should you still have problems, though, the following step-by-step guide may help you.
To start the installation of Glow, please run the setup program that you have downloaded after buying your copy of Glow. Please note that the following images in this guide may differ slightly from what you are seeing depending on the version that you have bought (either Full or Small Version).
Now, the installer will first unpack the files that are required for the installation into a temporary folder (this may take a few moments depending on the speed of your computer):

Then, a dialog pops up that lets you select the language of the installer (German or English). Depending on your choice, the corresponding localized version of Glow will then be installed onto your computer. After you have selected a language, confirm your choice by clicking on “OK”.

Now, the installation wizard will welcome you to the installation of Glow:

After proceeding to the next step by clicking on the “Next” button, the installer will display the license agreement of Glow. Please read this agreement carefully and confirm that you accept the terms of the agreement by activating the checkbox below the text field. If you do not agree with the terms listed therein, you are not allowed to proceed with the installation.

After you have agreed to the license agreement by activating the checkbox “I accept the terms in the License Agreement” and clicking on the “Next” button, the installer will allow you to enter the destination directory into which Glow shall be installed. You can either enter the path of your choice directly or click on the “Browse” button, which will open up a selection dialog. Unexperienced users may leave this setting as-is.

By clicking on the “Next” button, the installation will proceed to the next step. Now, you can select a folder in your Windows start menu where the program shortcut of Glow shall be created. Additionally, the installer will also create a shortcut to the uninstaller of Glow and the Black Chronos web site. If you do not want the installer to create any shortcuts, activate the checkbox near the lower border of the window. Afterwards, click on the “Next” button again.

Now, the actual installation process takes place. The setup program will now copy all files onto your hard disk that are required in order to play Glow, create the neccessary entries in your Windows registry and create the start menu shortcuts. Furthermore, a font file will be installed that is needed for the game to be rendered correctly. Since the installation process may take a few minutes depending on your system, please have a little patience. The progress bar keeps you informed on the status of the installation.

Once the process of copying files is finished, the setup program will let you know about the successful completion of the installation. If you like to, the installer can create a shortcut to Glow on your Windows desktop (this option is set by default). Otherwise, please uncheck the corresponding checkbox on the Finish screen of the installer. Also, you can have the installer open the User's Manual of Glow at the end of the installation:

Finally, click on “Finish” in order to quit the installer. Now, everything is set for you to enjoy Glow!
Using the external configuration utility that is automatically installed during the installation of Glow, you can change important settings of the game without having to start Glow itself. You can run the tool by selecting the proper entry in your start menu. Also, the configuration utility is (by default) automatically executed once setup has finished.
Shortly after you have started the program, a selection dialog will let you choose the language of the tool's user interface. In the program's main window, you can independently select the language of both menus, spoken responses and subtitles of the game itself.
In the “Graphics” tab, you can choose the graphical resolution in which Glow is to be displayed, as well as the graphics driver to be used. In case you are experiencing rendering problems using the default DirectX driver, you may try and look whether switching to OpenGL solves those problems. Beside this, there is also an option in the configuration tool to (de)activate the game's fullscreen mode.
Click on “Save and start game” in order to quit the configuration utility and test the new settings in Glow.
If you did not choose the “Do not create shortcuts” option during the installation of Glow, you can run Glow by simply selecting it from your Windows start menu. To do this, click on “Start”, “All programs” (Windows 2000: “Programs”), and navigate to the start menu folder that you have specified during the installation:

Click on “Play Glow” to start Glow and begin the challenging and exciting journey into hell. Using the “Uninstall Glow” shortcut, you can remove Glow from your system completely if you do not feel like playing the role of Stevie any more – although we hope that this is never going to be the case, of course.
If you chose the “Create desktop shortcut” option at the end of the installation, you can of course also start Glow by double-clicking on the program icon on your Windows desktop.
Alternatively, you can run Glow directly from its installation folder. To do this, open up the folder in Windows Explorer and then double-click on the file “Glow.exe” (or the application “Glow” if you have disabled file name extensions of known file types).
To remove Glow from your system, please use the uninstaller that is shipped with the game. To start the uninstaller, click on the “Uninstall Glow” shortcut in your Windows start menu. You can also access the uninstaller via your system's control panel: Click on “Start”, “Control Panel”, double-click on the “Software” icon and select “Glow” from the list of installed applications. Then, click on the “Remove” button.
The uninstaller removes all files, shortcuts and registry entries from your system that were created during the installation of Glow. Savegames, screenshots etc. that were created by yourself will be preserved.
